Lionhead History:

The lionhead originated in Belgium and is now
being bred in England and the United States.
The breed is reported to be an attempted long
haired dwarf rabbit through a cross between a
Swiss Fox and a Belgian Dwarf, although it is beleived
that some smaller wool type rabbits were introduced
in the breeding. The Lionhead Rabbit was first imported
to the United States in 1999 and has become a much
favored and adored breed.
